Brits 'go online for holiday advice'
Many Brits are opting to make their holiday plans online, it has been revealed.
According to recent survey from financial services provider Birmingham Midshires, 75 per cent of people who have access to an internet connection use it to look for advice about their holiday and travel plans.
The firm's Tim Haguesaid commented: "It is great that people now have more information at their fingertips."
It adds further weight to comments made last week by Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for the Association of British Travel Agents, who said that the internet is playing a key role in the travel industry.
"The number of package holidays being provided online [is] rising very steeply indeed," he commented.
Booking holidays online makes it simpler for those choosing which of the many attractive destinations, such as Fuerteventura and Mahon, they would like to visit and helps them quickly track down cheap flights.
According to the European Travel Commission, online business consultancy Logan Tod & Co revealed in a recent report that 84 per cent of people say that using the internet to make their travel plans easier and faster, while 82 per cent like being able to find a better deal online.
