Naturism - Let it all hang out

It is not clear what the "official" position regarding naturism or nudism is here but what is clear is that it is tolerated.

If you want that all-over tan then Fuerteventura is the ideal place. Although there aren't any designated naturist or naked beaches, the general rule is, if it's out of town and not 'sunbedded' then it's OK to get your kit off.

if you like greater privacy then hunker down in one of the makeshift stone igloos built as windshields.

Topless bathing is tolerated everywhere (on the beaches and at pools at least). Total Nudism at pools is not considered acceptable.

Generally speaking bear (bare?) in mind that not everyone may share your views regarding nudity and some may find it offensive. However, the practice of beach nudism is widespread and does not cause a stir - perhaps the odd raised eyebrow from tourists caught unawares.

The most important point to remember is that your wobbly bits may not have seen as much sun as the rest of your body - nothing could be worse than a sunburnt breast, bum or willy. So apply lotion (discreetly) liberally to avoid a red face if nothing else.

For newcomers to naturism please do not interpret a naked body as any kind of invitation. Privacy is a human right - nude or not.

Above all it is the feeling of freedom that is the pleasure of naturism - that and the sun bathing ALL of your body.
